There are several reasons for your HP Officejet 4650 not printing issues. They could be any one of the following:

  • When your Print Jobs are stuck in the queue
  • The wireless connection is not maintained by the printer
  • During network driver setup, your printer is not found both in Windows and Mac
  • The printer is Offline in Windows or in the Mac
  • Both the Color or Black ink cartridges are not printing

In the case where the printed output in black or color ink is missing or if you see that the printed page has very little ink or is blank then do the following:

The HP ink cartridges that you use should be genuine

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are suitable with your printer before you begin
    • Use genuine HP ink or toner supplies as recommended by HP
  • For non-HP or refilled cartridges, HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability

The estimated ink levels checking:

  • Print quality is highly impacted with low ink levels.
  • To see if any ink cartridges are critically low or empty, check the estimated ink levels
  • For planning purposes go with the estimated ink level warnings and indicators
  • Consider having a replacement ink cartridge when an indicator shows low ink levels
  • This should avoid any possible printing delays
  • Until print quality becomes totally unacceptable, you need not replace the ink cartridges
  • Touch the Ink icon on the printer’s control panel
  • The current estimated ink levels will be displayed

Low or empty ink cartridges replacements:

  • Critically low or empty ink cartridges should be replaced first
  • And then you can try to print again
  • The printer has to be turned on
  • Load the printer with plain, white paper
  • Lift up the ink cartridge access door till it locks into place by gently grasping the handles on either side of the printer
  • The carriage comes to the center of the printer
  • The carriage will be idle and silent after which you can proceed
  • To release the ink cartridge:
    • Lift the lid on the ink cartridge slot
    • Gently push the lid back until it stops
  • To remove it from the slot pull the ink cartridge up
  • From its package remove one of the new ink cartridges
  • With the nozzles toward the printer hold the ink cartridge by its sides
  • Slide the ink cartridge into the slot and close the ink cartridge access door.
